Set within the stunning grounds of Normanton Golf Club, Hatfeild Hall is a hidden gem just five minutes from Wakefield city centre. As you drive up the long, tree-lined avenue, flanked by manicured fairways and a striking fountain, the Hall reveals itself—a proud 18th-century manor house built from Yorkshire stone, with whitewashed walls that glow in golden hour light. It’s the kind of venue that feels like the countryside, yet is incredibly accessible.
• Exclusive use: Unlike other venues that stack weddings back-to-back, Hatfeild Hall hosts one wedding per day. That means no other brides, no other grooms—just you, your guests, and the full attention of the staff.
• Accessibility: The venue is all on one level, making it ideal for guests with mobility needs. It’s thoughtful, elegant, and inclusive.
• Photogenic charm: From the elevated position of the Hall to the sweeping lawns and soft stone textures, it’s a dream for light and airy wedding photography.
Rachel and Brian fell in love with Hatfeild Hall the moment they visited. When I asked why they chose it, their answer was simple: “It’s beautiful, it’s local, and the staff made everything super easy.” Working with Occasions by Tori, they found the planning process seamless—and the styling? Absolutely top-tier.
As someone who regularly photographs weddings at luxury venues like Grantley Hall and Swinton Castle, I can confidently say the design at Hatfeild Hall was right up there. My personal favourite? The floral arch that framed the ceremony—it was the perfect focal point and added a romantic softness to the space.
I get asked to recommend venues often, but Hatfeild Hall genuinely aligns with my style and values. It’s elegant without being overdone, welcoming without being generic, and it photographs beautifully. When I update my venue guide, Hatfeild Hall will be right at the top of my Wakefield list.
If you’re planning a wedding in Wakefield or West Yorkshire, do yourself a favour—visit Hatfeild Hall. You’ll be surprised by how pretty it is, how warm the staff are, and how effortlessly it all comes together.
