Frequently Asked Questions

When is our wedding date officially secured?

Your wedding date is confirmed once a deposit of £250 has been paid.

How long does it take to edit our wedding?

I try to have all the editing completed in less than 4 weeks and your images ready to view on your private gallery. If you have ordered an album this will take longer as I take great care in designing my albums.

What is the booking process?

The easiest way to book is by filling out the form on my website. Once submitted, I’ll email you to arrange a meeting where we can discuss your special day. If distance is a challenge, we can have a phone consultation instead. It’s essential that we connect well; if I’m not the right fit, I’d be happy to recommend a photographer who suits your needs.

What cameras do you use?

I use professional Nikon cameras and lenses and I always carry a backup just in case. So, don't panic, I can assure you I will always have a suitable camera to capture your special moments

Do you just photograph weddings?

Yes, I am a full-time wedding photographer and portrait photographer. I sometimes take on different projects. So, if there is anything I haven't covered on my services page please fill out my enquiry form with your requirements and I'll get straight back to you.

Can you provide the raw files after the Wedding??

No, I provide fully edited images along with a print license, allowing you to print and enjoy the cherished moments of your day.

Do you have a recommended supplier page?

Yes! Over the years, I’ve connected with some incredible wedding suppliers. Visit my recommended supplier page to see my trusted recommendations.

Do you take last-minute Bookings?

Yes, click here to view my page on last-minute bookings and why you should always give me a call as soon as you can.

How much time do you need for photographs on the day?

The more time we have the more we can do. However, on average, for formals I require at least 35 minutes, I start with the full wedding party group shot, then work our way down the list of shots and let people leave after each shot so not everyone is required all the time. A typical formal shoot list would look something like this:

  1. Full Wedding Party Shot
  2. Grandparents / Elderly Guests and Children
  3. Parents

Then finally it will be time for the couple shoot, I normally need around 20-30 minutes for this. In the summer we could push this to after the wedding breakfast.

For feature shots (hero shots) I normally set them up and then come and grab you, this saves you time to enjoy your big day!

Do you travel and is there a fee?

Yes, inside Yorkshire is free of charge, but outside of Yorkshire, I may add a small travel fee. For location weddings overseas please get in contact.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, I have public liability, professional indemnity and equipment insurance. If you or your venue would like to see my public liability certificate please just ask.

What Happens if you are sick?

If I am sick on your wedding day one of my professional photography friends will cover the wedding for me.

We are only having a small intimate, half-day ceremony. Will the cost be the same as your full wedding package?

Not necessarily, I do have a standard wedding package offer but all requirements are discussed during our initial meeting and any further discounts will be discussed then.

What if we have to cancel our wedding?

I understand that circumstances change and dates may need to be altered which is why I take a £250 deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. If you need to change the date of your wedding you will be required to pay a £50 admin fee. All I ask is that you let me know as soon as possible so that we can try and find you an alternative date.

My partner and I both want preparation shots but we are at different venues, do you have a second photographer who can capture both of these?

The best way to capture both wedding preparations is to use my second photographer please ask me about this

Do you cover Civil Partnership/ Same-Sex Marriages?

Yes, love is love, I will cover all Weddings, Ceremonies and Blessings.

Why haven't you won any awards Yet?

I don't agree with some of the award boards, I believe you should not have to pay to win an award.

Do you offer a payment plan for the final balance?

Of course, I understand how expensive weddings are so I work with my client's needs to organise a payment plan to suit you.

an we meet with you before deciding, and will there be a fee?

Of course! Meeting with your photographer is crucial to ensuring alignment. I don’t charge for consultations, even if you ultimately choose another photographer. Your wedding day is my priority, and I want you to find the perfect fit, whether it’s me or someone else.

Do you have a recommended supplier page?

Yes I do, as I have worked in the wedding industry for a while now, I have networked with many other wedding suppliers, and these are the best of the best and who I recommend

Can We have a look at your contract before we book you?

Sure, just send me an email and I will send that over to you.

How long will our digital gallery be hosted?

Your gallery will be hosted online for 2 years, giving you plenty of time to download and back up your images. After this period, you’ll have the option to continue online hosting for a small fee of less than £1 per week.

If you lose your backup, I can restore your gallery for you to download again, but please note that a £50 admin fee will apply.

We have lost our wedding pictures—can you help?

Losing precious wedding images is always unfortunate, but in most cases, I can retrieve them from my deep archive. This process involves accessing off-site, encrypted storage systems and manually searching through multiple backup drives to locate and restore your files. Due to the time and technical effort required, an admin fee of £50 applies to cover secure data retrieval and integrity checks.
