"I call myself a non-award-winning wedding photographer, and I mean it. None of what follows is a trophy. It is the handful of times someone else put my work in front of their own audience, and the days I gave the camera to a hospice."
A dress designer, a hotel and a Super League rugby club, each of whom put my photographs on their own platform. That's the sort of proof I would actually want to see if I were hiring a Yorkshire wedding photographer, so here it is on one page rather than buried in the blog.
Underneath it is work nobody paid me for. For a few years I photographed fundraising for the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract, and two of those days are here as well.
Three times an outside party chose to publish my photographs on their own platform.
Caroline Castigliano, a London bridal designer, chose Mrs Conway as her Christmas Eve Bride 2020 and featured six images from her Halifax wedding on her official Instagram account. The designer who made the dress, picking the photographs of it.

Rudding Park in North Yorkshire put Lucy and Omotola's wedding on the venue's own wedding gallery page. Venues see every photographer who works there, which makes their gallery a fussier judge than most.

Huddersfield Giants asked me to take the 2025 team photograph, the whole playing squad with backroom staff, the chairman and the sponsors, plus behind-the-scenes photographs on media day. ITV had a journalist and a cameraman present. A proud day, and a useful reminder that a big group under pressure is still just a group shot.

It costs around £3,000 a day to run the hospice in Pontefract. For a few years I photographed their fundraising for nothing, and these are two of the days I would happily do again.
Michelle turned fifty and marked it by setting out to do fifty challenges in her fiftieth year, aiming to raise £30,000 for the hospice. I photographed the one where she had her head shaved and then sat for her first tattoo, both at Skinworkx in Knottingley. Of all her challenges, I suspect that was among the hardest.

Lockdown shut the charity shops and the fundraising with them. Rachel List, the Pontefract artist, put her artwork on a run of limited edition mugs alongside Michelle's Flowers and Picsons Printers, with every penny going to the hospice. I photographed the launch in the car park, everyone two metres apart. Rachel's murals became an international story that year and these pictures travelled with it, mostly without my name on them.
