Walcot Hall in Scunthorpe is a beautiful country house wedding venue surrounded by character, charm, and stunning gardens. Charlotte and George’s wedding at Walcott Hall was my first experience at this venue, and I hope it won’t be my last.
Bridal Preparations in the Bridal Suite
One of the remarkable features of Walcott Hall is the abundance of beautiful rooms. These aren’t just rooms designed to look dated; they are genuine spaces with character. The room where Charlotte prepared for her bridal moments felt like something out of a queen’s palace—a truly spectacular setting for bridal preparation photos.

Due to inclement weather, the wedding ceremony took place inside the drawing room. Despite this change of plans, the room was equally impressive, although it was quite full.

When Charlotte and George exchanged vows in the drawing room, the original plan had been for an outdoor ceremony in the enchanted woods. Unfortunately, rain disrupted those plans. However, spirits remained high, and guests enjoyed canapés served in the halls, the beautiful drawing room, and the library. Meanwhile, I captured family formal photos.
Eventually, the rain subsided, and everything proceeded as scheduled. Charlotte and George’s wedding breakfast took place in the marquee at the end of the garden—a lovely and fitting location for their celebration.
The Spectacular Gardens
Walcott Hall boasts spectacular gardens, and as a wedding photographer, I’m a sucker for a lovely rose garden. It’s surprising how many venues miss the mark on this essential element. A beautiful garden provides the perfect backdrop for creating stunning images. Even if we couldn’t venture outside due to the weather, the interior of the hall itself was absolutely stunning. I could easily capture memorable shots of the bride and groom within its walls.
I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Walcott Hall. This North Lancashire wedding venue offers endless creative possibilities.
