Bagden Hall in West Yorkshire is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph. Every time I photograph weddings at Bagden Hall, I find something new to inspire me. Whether it’s the time of year, something the hall has changed, or my amazing couples who get married there, I am always inspired by Bagden Hall.
Danielle and Rob’s wedding was no exception. The theme of Danielle and Rob’s wedding was autumnal. You could say it was just as much autumnal inside Bagden Hall, with the beautiful colours and decor Danielle had chosen, as it was outside, with their wedding taking place right at the beginning of October.
As a wedding photographer, I typically get asked, “When is the best time to get married?” This is a hard question to answer, but for me, autumn is the best time to get married. I love the outdoor autumn colours, the leaves on the ground, and the dappled light you get from the early sunsets. Pretty much everything about autumn is spectacular, and Danielle and Rob’s wedding was no exception. You could see that the couple had put everything into this wedding, and it was stunning—from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the groomsmen’s suits, everything matched perfectly, including the beautiful wedding cake with a gingerbread bride and groom on top. The amazing party the bride and groom had afterwards featured a saxophonist blasting out the hits and magical performances by Tim Litchfield.
Danielle and Rob’s wedding was a spectacular one to capture as a wedding photographer. There was so much going on, and the bride and groom were so happy. It was easy speaking to Danielle and Rob. We decided to do quick, bite-sized couple shoots, one in the afternoon and another in the twilight using flash. Both sessions looked amazing.

f you’re planning on getting married in autumn, you’re in for a treat. In my opinion, autumn is the most spectacular time to get married, but make sure you get a photographer who can use flash 😉.
