Mr & Mrs Wantson York City Center Wedding

The Last Minute wedding photographer

As a last-minute replacement, I had the honour of capturing the special day of Mr and Mrs W in the heart of York City Center. Though it was not part of my original plan, I was thrilled to step in for my fellow photographer who, unfortunately, fell ill. My deepest wishes for a speedy recovery goes to him, as he had always dreamed of photographing a wedding in such a beautiful location. I am grateful for the opportunity to create lasting memories for this couple and be a part of their big day.

Bridal Preparations at the Judges' Lodgings

I had the pleasure of driving up to North Yorkshire to capture the beautiful moments of Mrs. Wantson and her bridal party getting ready at the luxurious Judges Lodgings in York City Center. This historic location, just a stone’s throw away from the iconic York Minster, York Registery office, and Museum Park, served as the perfect backdrop for the start of the couple’s special day. I was thrilled to photograph the wedding party at these three stunning locations and create lasting memories for the couple.

The wedding Service at York Registry Office Wedding

The Wantsons’ nuptials at the York Registry office were a beautiful and intimate affair. The ceremony room was beautifully decorated with natural light streaming in through the windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As the couple exchanged vows and tied the knot, I captured every precious moment of their special day. The ceremony was filled with love and emotion, making it a joy to photograph.

Newlyweds photoshoot in the Museum Gardens

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their loved ones headed to the picturesque York Museum Gardens for the bride and groom photoshoot and family formal portraits. The gardens, with its lush greenery and colorful flowers, provided a breathtaking backdrop for the photographs. The natural beauty of the trees and flowers seamlessly incorporated into the images, making them truly special.

The only downside to this wonderful location is that it can be quite crowded in the summer. However, the visitors were considerate and respectful when they saw that it was a wedding party, and they made every effort to stay out of the photographs.

York is truly one of the most beautiful cities in North Yorkshire, if not all of England, and when the summer sun shines as it did on this day in August, the city truly comes to life. The perfect setting for a wedding, and I was honored to be a part of such a special day.
