 Mr & Mrs Macalister’s

Holmfield Arms Wakefield Wedding

Bride and Groom sat in horse drawn carriage

Photographing Mr and Mrs Macalister’s wedding was an absolute joy for me. From the moment I arrived for the bridal preparations in the morning to the final shot of the evening, the laughter and joy never stopped. Mr and Mrs Macalister are expats who normally live in the warmer climate of Tenerife, but they chose to come back to Mrs Macalister’s hometown of Wakefield to get married. As a wedding photographer who is always up for an adventure, I joked with them that I would be happy to travel to Tenerife or anywhere else in the world to capture their special day. But for now, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of their beautiful wedding in Wakefield

Bridal Preparations

One of the funniest moments of my career as a wedding photographer occurred during the bridal preparations for Mr and Mrs Macalister’s wedding. As I was photographing the scene upstairs, we heard a sudden cry, ‘Who the bloody hell is Frank Bird? He’s got my dress and I have his wedding suit!’ It turned out that there had been a mix-up with the groom’s outfit, and he had mistakenly taken his mother-in-law’s outfit with him to the wedding venue. Fortunately, the Holmfield Arms was only a short drive away, so I offered to make the exchange and ensure that everything was sorted out in time for the ceremony. As a professional, it was my duty to step in and help in any way I could to make sure the wedding went off without a hitch. And in the end, it all worked out and we had a great laugh about it.

Love and marriage, horse and carriage

Mrs. Macalister arrived at the Holmfield Arms in true fairytale fashion, escorted by two beautiful white horses pulling a magnificent carriage. As a wedding photographer, I was amazed by the grace and elegance of these magnificent animals, and by the joy and excitement on Mrs. Macalister’s face as she was greeted by her friends who had traveled from near and far to witness her special day. It was a truly magical moment, and one that I am grateful to have been able to capture with my camera. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Macalister, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful and memorable wedding

The wedding service at Holmfield Arms

The Macalisters’ wedding service was filled with joy and laughter, with both the bride and groom visibly delighted to be exchanging their vows and committing to a lifetime together. As they walked down the aisle as the new Mr and Mrs Macalister, surrounded by their loved ones, it was clear that this was a moment they would cherish forever. As their wedding photographer, I was honoured to be able to capture the beauty and emotion of this special moment and to help them preserve it for years to come. Congratulations to the happy couple, and may your marriage be filled with many more moments of love and joy.

They go together like a horse and carriage.”

Reception in the Maqueee

After the wedding service, it was time for the celebrations to begin in the Holmfield Arms Marquee. Mr and Mrs Macalister danced the night away with all of their friends and family, enjoying every moment of their special day. As their wedding photographer, I was struck by the love and joy that filled the room, and by the amazing talents of Mrs Macalister, who made her own beautiful and delicious wedding cake. It was one of the best I have ever seen, and I am grateful to have been able to capture it and many other memorable moments from this wonderful wedding. Congratulations again to Mr and Mrs Macalister, and thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.
