Frequently Asked Questions
What cameras do you use?
I use professional Nikon cameras and lenses and I always carry a backup just in case. So, don’t panic, I can assure you I will always have a suitable camera to capture your special moments
Do you just shoot weddings?
No, as a freelance photographer I take on lots of different projects. So, if there is anything I haven’t covered on my services page please fill out my enquiry form with your requirements and I’ll get straight back to you.
Can you provide the raw files after the Wedding??
No, I deliver you beautiful high resolution, fully edited pictures that capture the moments of your big day so you can enjoy it again and again.
Do we need to cater for you on our Wedding Day?
Not exactly, I appreciate being offered the opportunity to be included however I much prefer the option of eating separately to your guests but I’m sure you can appreciate I’ll be on my feet, working hard all day so being fed and watered is very much appreciated. I don’t take pictures while people are eating so this is the time I normally have something to eat while you guys enjoy your Wedding Breakfast.
How long does it take to edit our wedding?
I try to have all the editing completed in less than three weeks and your images ready to view on your own private gallery. If you have ordered an album this will take longer as I take great care in designing my albums.
Do you do a discount for weekday weddings?
Yes, I class Monday – Thursday as a weekday wedding (not including bank holidays)
What is the booking process?
The easiest way to book is to email me through my website then I will email you back and arrange a meeting so we can have a chat about your big day. If this is not possible because of distance we can have a nice chat on the phone.
Do you take last minute Bookings?
Yes click here to view my page on last minute booking and why you should always give me a call as soon as you can
At what point is our wedding date booked and secured?
Your wedding date is only secure once you have paid the deposit of 20% of the final balance, then the full balance will need to be paid 2 weeks before the wedding.
How much time do you need for photographs?
The more time we have the more we can do. However, on average, for formals I require at least 35 minutes, I start with the full wedding party group shot, then work our way down the list of shots and let people leave after each shot so not everyone is required all the time. A typical shoot list would look something like this:
- Full Wedding Party Shot
- Grandparents / Elderly Guests and Children
- Then finally, the Bride and Groom
I will ask you for a shot list closer to your wedding day.
For feature shots I normally set them up then come and grab you, this saves you time to enjoy your big day!
Do you travel?
Yes, inside West Yorkshire if free of charge, but outside of West Yorkshire I may add a small travel fee, also if I need to stay in a hotel that will be added, for location weddings overseas please get in contact.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, I have public liability, professional indemnity and equipment insurance. If you or your venue would like to see my public liability certificate please just ask.
What Happens if you are sick?
If I am sick on your wedding day one of my professional photography friends will cover the wedding for me.
We are only having a small intimate, half-day ceremony. Will the cost be the same as your full wedding package?
Not necessarily, I do have a standard wedding package offer but all requirements are discussed during our initial meeting and any further discounts will be discussed then.
What if we have to cancel our wedding?
I understand that circumstances change and dates may need to be altered which is why I take a 20% deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is non refundable. If you need to change the date of your wedding you will be required to pay another 20% deposit. All I ask is that you let me know as soon as possible so that we can try and find you an alternative date.
My partner and I both want preparation shots but we are at different venues, do you have a second photographer who can capture both of these?
Yes, although it is not always necessary. I usually split my time between the two venues to ensure I capture both parties getting ready. I will assess whether an additional photographer is required and I will plan this behind the scenes so you don’t need to worry.
Do you cover Civil Partnership/ Same-Sex Marriages?
Yes, love is love, I will cover all Weddings, Ceremonies and Blessings.
Do you offer a payment plan for the final balance?
Of course, I understand how expensive weddings are so I work with my client’s needs to organise a payment plan to suit you.
We have met with a couple of photographers already but have come across your website and would like to discuss things with you before we make a decision. Will you charge us a fee for the meeting if we decide to go with someone else?
Absolutely not. I always advise all of my clients to meet with their photographers of choice to ensure everything has been discussed. Miscommunication can easily happen if communication is only via email so it is always best to meet each other
Do you have a recommended supplier page?
Yes I do, as I have worked in the wedding industry a while now, I have networked with many other wedding suppliers, and these are the best of the best and who I recommend
Can We have a look at your contract before we book you?
Sure, please download my Terms Of Business from this link here
