Beautiful Wedding at The Priest House AND Old Chapel, Barden Tower

West Yorkshire wedding photographer

When it comes to picturesque wedding venues, The Priest House and Old Chapel at Barden Tower stands in a league of its own. Nestled in the heart of the enchanting Yorkshire Dales, this historic gem is surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Regardless of the season, it’s easy to understand why I was eagerly anticipating Susan Suzanne and Tom’s wedding day at this magical location.

Having heard much about The Priest House at Barden Tower and seen countless images of this place online, I was still unprepared for the sheer beauty I would encounter through my own lens. It’s safe to say that I was utterly captivated by the spectacular charm of this wedding venue. The chapel, where the ceremonies take place, is nothing short of mesmerizing. Despite its age, the chapel is bathed in an abundance of soft, natural light that streams through its exquisite windows.

As a wedding photographer, finding a venue with ample natural light is like discovering a hidden treasure. Often, I find myself working in dimly lit castles, but The Priest House and Chapel offer an entirely different experience. The lighting is spectacular, the location is breathtaking, and every aspect of this wedding venue exudes a sense of grandeur.

My day began with meeting Suzanne for some preparation photos. Suzanne was getting ready in the nearby Barden Bunk Barn, which made my job remarkably convenient. I could seamlessly transition between the Priest House and Bunk Barn, ensuring that I captured every moment of the morning’s preparations.

The Chapel and Ceremony

The chapel can comfortably accommodate up to 77 guests for your wedding breakfast and even more for your evening celebration. But it truly shines during the wedding ceremonies. As mentioned earlier, the chapel’s large windows flood the space with natural light, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere.

If you are in search of a wedding venue, I wholeheartedly recommend considering The Priest House at Barden Tower. There are few chapel-attached venues in Yorkshire that can rival its beauty and historical significance.

Following Suzanne and Tom’s heartwarming wedding ceremony, it was time for the family formals. I positioned the family just adjacent to the Priest House, making use of the lovely gardens, and, fortunately, the weather cooperated just long enough for us to capture these important shots.

Next up was the bridal room photoshoot. Suzanne and Tom and I embarked on a journey through the grounds of Barden Tower. Every corner we explored was filled with stunning scenery, providing the perfect backdrop for their special day.

In summary, The Priest House and Chapel at Barden Tower is undeniably one of Yorkshire’s premier wedding venues, and its allure is undeniable. Situated amidst the captivating Yorkshire Dales and steeped in history, it is a dream come true for any couple seeking a fairytale wedding.
